The Role:
About the Role
Join our leadership team as Director of Finance, where you'll drive financial performance, provide strategic direction, and play a key role in shaping the continued success and growth of our hotel.
Reporting to the General Manager, with a functional reporting line to the Vice President of Finance, you will lead the hotel's finance function, ensuring financial excellence, compliance, and robust commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.
- Provide strategic financial advice and commercial insights to the General Manager, Vice President of Finance, and Hotel Leadership Team.
- Prepare accurate monthly,
quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring timely completion of month-end and year-end processes.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, monitoring performance and driving financial accountability across departments.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, taxation, audit, and corporate reporting requirements.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard hotel assets and minimize risk.
- Drive profitability through revenue analysis, cost management, and business performance initiatives.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, procurement controls, and capital expenditure planning.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a high-performance and service-oriented culture.
- Partner with Department Heads to achieve financial objectives and support operational excellence.
- Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.
- Promote compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and Amora policies and procedures.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as directed by the General Manager and Vice President of Finance.
Essential Attributes
- Australian passport holder or holder of legitimate working visa
- 2- 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Advanced computer literacy, including Excel and financial systems.
- Experience with Opera, SUN Systems, Micropay Meridian, Deputy T&A;, or similar platforms.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and personal presentation.
Desirable
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Previous hospitality or hotel finance experience.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and commercial performance.
- Experience with audits, internal controls, and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
