About the Company

Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our purpose is to support healthy and prosperous communities.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Officer to join our Operations Control and Maintenance (OCM) team in a full-time, 12-month fixed term position. This is a key role responsible for undertaking and overseeing new and existing work on GVW's electrical installations.

This opportunity will suit an experienced electrical professional seeking a varied and hands-on role supporting the reliable operation of critical water and wastewater infrastructure across our region.

About your new role...

As an Electrical Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving GVW's electrical instrumentation and automation assets across our water and wastewater networks. Working closely with Operations, Asset Management and Project Delivery teams, you will help ensure the reliability, safety and compliance of critical infrastructure that supports our regional communities.

In this role, you will:

• Undertake electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across water and wastewater facilities

• Support new and upgraded electrical installations, including switchboards, PLC-controlled systems and SCADA infrastructure

• Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of instrumentation and monitoring equipment

• Interpret and maintain electrical drawings, records and technical documentation

• Coordinate and work alongside contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver maintenance and project activities

• Participate in an on-call availability roster and support operational responses as required





This position is based in Alexandra and will require substantial travel across our Southern geographical area (including Shepparton/Seymour/Alexandra/Cobram). Flexible work arrangements are available, where operationally appropriate, in line with GVW policy.

About you...

We're looking for someone with:

- Certificate IV or higher in Electrotechnology, or a lesser qualification combined with a minimum of 7 year's relevant experience
- Current A Grade Electrical Licence
- Experience working with PLCs, Telemetry and/or Instrumentation systems
- Ability to read, understand and update electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong understanding of electrical standards, regulations and safe work practices
- Extensive experience using computer applications software/mobile applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, customer service and continuous improvement

- Classification GVW4: $102,352 - $123,812+ superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant, qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
