GHS Plumbing & Electrical is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Service / Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day performance of our plumbing, HVAC and electrical service teams.

If you’re an experienced plumber, trade supervisor, service manager or operations leader who knows how to run tradespeople, solve problems, keep customers happy and drive results, this could be your next move.

This isn’t a role where you sit behind a desk watching spreadsheets all day.

You’ll be right in the middle of the operation, supporting technicians, working with dispatch, reviewing jobs, solving problems, coaching the team and making sure we deliver a high standard of service every day.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Lead & Develop the Trade Team

- Lead and support our plumbers, electricians and apprentices

- Hold technicians accountable to performance and quality standards

- Run regular one-on-ones, toolbox meetings and performance reviews

- Coach technicians on customer service, communication and job performance

- Work closely with our Plumbing/Electrical Team Leader

- Help recruit, onboard and develop new team members

- Build a strong culture of accountability, professionalism and teamwork

Drive Operational Performance

You’ll take ownership of key operational KPIs including:

- Revenue and sales performance

- Technician productivity and utilisation

- Average job value

- Quote conversion

- Callback and warranty rates

- Customer satisfaction

- Job completion rates

- Labour efficiency

- Materials and job profitability

- Technician attendance and performance

You’ll know what’s happening across the operation and take action when something isn’t performing.

Keep the Day Running Smoothly

- Work closely with dispatch and administration to keep jobs moving





- Make decisions when schedules change or problems arise

- Assist with escalated customer issues

- Review problem jobs before they become bigger problems

- Ensure technicians have the information, materials and support they need

- Improve communication between the field and office teams

Own the Customer Experience

You’ll ensure our team:

- Arrives professionally

- Leaves jobs clean and organised

- Handles complaints quickly and professionally

- Follows up when something hasn’t gone to plan

Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Maintain high workmanship standards

- Ensure required job documentation is completed

- Monitor plumbing and electrical compliance requirements

- Review callbacks and identify recurring issues

- Conduct job and technician audits

- Maintain robust WHS standards

- Ensure company procedures are consistently followed

Who We’re Looking For

Ideally, you’ve come from a plumbing, electrical, HVAC or home-services background and understand what it takes to run a successful field service operation.

You might currently be a:

Senior Plumber • Plumbing Supervisor • Service Manager • Operations Manager • Field Supervisor • Trade Manager • Leading Hand

You’re ready for the next step if you:

- Have strong leadership skills

- Understand trades and field service

- Can manage different personalities

- Understand KPIs and commercial performance

Trade qualifications are highly regarded, particularly plumbing experience, but strong service-management experience will also be considered.
