This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and keeping manufacturing equipment running safely and efficiently. You will carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the site, respond to breakdowns and faults to minimise production downtime, and work closely with Production to ensure equipment is safe, reliable and operating efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the site
- Respond to breakdowns and faults to minimise production downtime
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to longer-term solutions and equipment improvements
- Complete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance activities
- Assist with installation, modification and commissioning of new equipment and projects
- Work closely with Production to ensure equipment is safe, reliable and operating efficiently
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with WHS requirements and company procedures
- Contribute to a positive safety and continuous improvement culture
About you
- Trade qualification as a Maintenance Fitter / Fitter & Turner or equivalent
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience with preventative and planned maintenance programs
- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and respond effectively to breakdowns
- Good attention to detail and a focus on quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production and other teams
- A proactive approach and willingness to get involved and find solutions
- A strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
