Southern Steel QLD is Queensland’s leading steel supplier and steel processing company, operating across 5 locations in the state.

We’re looking for somebody with the right attitude, who can handle a busy, rapid paced environment with ease in this exciting opportunity as a Storeperson on located in our Cairns branch.

Responsibilities include:
Warehousing and distribution of steel products using overhead cranes/forklifts;
Picking & packing orders, unloading, loading and stacking materials;
Operating a band saw machine, when required;
General warehouse duties;
Following the correct safety procedures at all times.

Someone who is a team player, reliable, and enjoys a quick-paced environment will be perfectly suited to this role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in a similar role or general knowledge of warehouse operations.
MR Truck licence desirable
Forklift licence, or ability to obtain




Crane licence or experience driving overhead bridge gantry cranes (preferred but not essential)
Be physically fit to carry out heavy duties in a high intensity work environment
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously and as part of team
