Murray Veterinary Services requires a seasonal reliable hand to join the secure hand team. This position is initially casual from September 2026 to January 2027, working a rotating 4 days per week and one in 2 Sunday morning shifts. The position has the potential to become permanent part time from February 2027 onwards for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
Cleaning of stables and yards
Moving of horses between yard, paddocks and hospital
Feeding and watering of horses
Keeping stables, barns and grounds presented to a very high standard at all times
Holding horses for treatments and procedures
Assisting veterinarians where required
Managing the daily care of the embryo transfer herd
Assisting vets with the breeding of mares and collection of stallions from August to January
About you
Experience handling and working with horses
Willing to complete tasks effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
Positive observational and communication skills
Able to work collaboratively within the team
