This role forms part of a major long‑term construction program in the Pilbara, delivering large‑scale SMP and electrical works for a recent processing facility. You'll be working directly with a Tier‑1 contractor under a secure, multi‑year scope.
Electrical BMW - Key Duties
Fabrication of electrical instrumentation supports
Fabrication of cable ladder, tray, sets, bends and lids
Welding and fabrication to project specifications and standards
SMP BMW - Key Duties
Read and interpret drawings, work orders and production schedules
Prepare metal stock, tools and equipment
Fabricate, weld and repair structural components, pipe supports, caissons and J‑tubes
Fit and assemble components using welding, bolting, riveting, brazing or soldering
Operate cutting/welding equipment safely and correctly
Perform GMAW/FCAW/SMAW welding to project requirements
Requirements
Trade Certificate - Cert III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade)
Construction White Card
Minimum 2 years construction experience on remote mining/resource projects
Previous experience in Mining / Energy / Oil & Gas highly regarded
Ability to pass both weld tests
WA‑based or able to FIFO ex‑Perth
Ability to meet site medical and compliance requirements
Weld Tests:
Mandatory Weld Tests (All BMW Applicants)
Candidates must pass both weld tests before medicals are booked.
Test 1: SMAW - 3G & 4G (with backing)
Test 2: FCAW‑GS - 3G & 4G (with backing)
Material: AS3678 GR350
Coupon Thickness: ≥12mm
