The Opportunity
Location: Geelong, Victoria
Position: Financial Accountant

Employment type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary offered AUD: 110,000.00 per year plus superannuation

Main Responsibilities
Process journals and assist with month-end accounting, financial reports and management accounts.
Complete general ledger, payroll, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other taxation compliance obligations.
Support year-end accounting, statutory reporting and internal and external audits.
Assist with annual budgets, company tax returns and finance-related projects.
Support inventory reporting, stocktakes and monthly factory results.
Review financial results, investigate variances and assist departmental managers with accounting matters.
Maintain accurate financial records and comply with relevant legislation, company policies and reporting requirements.




Provide general accounting support to Godfrey Hirst and its subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field and have at least three years' experience in financial accounting or a similar role. A CPA or CA qualification (or progress towards obtaining one) is highly desirable.

Candidates should demonstrate experience in:
Month-end accounting processes
Financial reporting
Account reconciliations
Australian taxation and compliance requirements, including GST, BAS, FBT, and payroll tax

Experience within a manufacturing workplace, particularly with inventory or cost accounting, will be viewed favourably.

Effective written and verbal communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
