About the role
Waitstaff / Food & Beverage Attendant at Kivotos Wine & Cusina in Braddon or Kivotos Taverna at the Hellenic Club in Woden. You'll be part of a small team delivering Greek hospitality — looking after guests like family while maintaining high standards across both venues.
Key responsibilities
Greeting and seating guests, and making them feel like they've walked into someone's home
Taking orders, running food and drink, maintaining tables through service
Talking guests through the menu and the wine list with genuine confidence
POS, cash and card handling
Setup and pack down, keeping the floor tidy and the standards up
About you
Previous restaurant floor experience is ideal, but attitude beats CV — if you're switched on, warm with people and willing to learn
Current RSA (ACT) — or willingness to get one before you start
Availability for evenings and weekends
Unrestricted right to work in Australia
Greek language or knowledge of Greek food and wine is a bonus, not a requirement
About us
Kivotos was opened in Braddon in 2024 by chef George Giannoulis — trained in Athens, then years at The Dorchester in London, Sofitel, Hilton, Shangri-La and many more. The food is Greek done properly:
chargrilled octopus, prawn saganaki, lamb with pistachio and saffron yoghurt, loukoumades made to order. The wine list is all Greek, curated producer by producer. Our second venue, Kivotos Taverna at the Hellenic Club in Woden, runs a bigger, busier room with Greek Mediterranean food and the same standards.
Advantages
You'll finish at a reasonable hour. Braddon dinner service ends at 9pm, Tuesday to Saturday. No 1am pack downs.
You'll learn a wine list worth learning. Greek varietals most Australian sommeliers can't pronounce — assyrtiko, xinomavro, Agiorgitiko. We'll teach you properly, and it's knowledge that travels with you.
Two venues, real flexibility. A quiet week at one site doesn't mean a quiet pay packet. Shifts across both, and if you want more hours, they're there.
Competitive rates, paid correctly, every time. Weekend and public holiday penalties on top. No trial shifts you don't get paid for.
A small team where you're not a number. Greek hospitality is philoxenia — looking after a stranger like they're family. That applies to guests, and it applies to staff.
