Technical Consultant – Digital Payments

Location: Sydney | Hybrid (up to 4 days in office/client site)

Profusion Group is proud to partner with a global leader in digital payments technology to recruit a Technical Consultant to support the rollout of next-generation payment solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll play a key part in delivering seamless, secure, and innovative checkout experiences. You’ll work across cutting-edge solutions such as Click to Pay, Token Authentication, and Secure Card on File, helping merchants and partners modernise their payment ecosystems.

If you enjoy working at the intersection of technology, payments, and customer experience, and like getting into the detail (API debugging, JavaScript, IAT testing), this is an outstanding prospect.

Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end technical delivery of digital payment solutions across AU/NZ
Support customers throughout the lifecycle: pre-sales, solutioning, implementation, and post-launch optimisation
Drive technical integrations with acquirers, PSPs, payment gateways, and merchants
Troubleshoot and optimise checkout flows through API analysis, debugging, and testing
Collaborate with engineering, UX,



and product teams to define requirements and technical specifications
Ensure all implementations meet global standards and local regulatory requirements
Monitor performance and continuously improve adoption, conversion, and customer experience

About You You’re a technically strong, commercially aware consultant who thrives in a rapid-paced, cutting-edge environment.

We’re looking for
Experience working with APIs, SDKs, and system integrations
Strong understanding of software development, cloud environments, and system architecture
Ability to confidently engage with engineering teams and technical stakeholders
Experience or exposure to payments, acquiring, gateways, or digital wallets (highly desirable)
Hands-on problem-solving skills — comfortable reviewing JavaScript, debugging APIs, and running tests
A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to influence and deliver across teams
