MJM Recruit is working with an established construction company seeking a motivated Junior Contracts Administrator to join its Brisbane team in Eight Mile Plains, initially working approximately 20 hours per week.
This is an incredible career prospect for a recent graduate or current university student looking to gain practical industry experience and establish a long-term career in commercial / industrial construction.
Beginning as a Junior Contracts Administrator, you will receive hands-on experience and support from an experienced project team. As your skills and confidence develop, and as the company continues to grow, there is potential to increase your hours and progress into a full-time position.
The longer-term career pathway may include progression from Junior Contracts Administrator to Contracts Administrator, Junior Project Manager and ultimately Project Manager.
The Role
You will assist the project team with:
Subcontractor and supplier agreements
Obtaining and comparing quotations
Purchase orders, scopes of work and procurement
Progress claims, invoices and variations
Maintaining project documentation and registers
Cost tracking and general project administration
Liaising with subcontractors,
suppliers and consultants
Following up outstanding information and approvals
About You
You will ideally be currently studying or have recently completed a qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or a related discipline.
You will also bring:
A genuine desire to build a long-term career in construction
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Transparent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
A proactive, reliable attitude and willingness to learn
The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Australian working rights
Previous construction experience is not essential. Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their qualifications or current studies, together with qualified, academic or employment references.
