Working closely with Council, internal teams, government agencies, landowners and industry.Develop and implement planning strategies that support future land use and economic development.Assess, report and recommend on complex land development and land-use applications.Lead amendments to the Local Planning Scheme and high-level strategic proposals for Council.Manage Crown land, environmental and mining-related planning matters.Provide expert advice to elected members, staff and external stakeholders.Represent the Shire at the State Administrative Tribunal when require.Ensure planning processes are efficient, consistent and aligned with best practice.Key attributes and Essential Criteria:We are looking for a confident, experienced local government planner who thrives in a regional setting and is motivated by the challenge of complex planning environments.
This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine influence.
