AIEF was established in **** in response to community demand from Indigenous families who choose to enrol their children in boarding schools.Bringing together the government and private sector, AIEF provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies, with career support and mentoring to help them make a successful transition to employment.Backed by some of Australia's most influential business, philanthropic, media and community leaders, AIEF has grown from one scholarship student in **** to now supporting over 1,500 young Indigenous people from over 400 communities in every state and territory of Australia.AIEF has consistently achieved annual retention and Year 12 completion rates and career transition rates above 90% since funding its first scholarship in ****.The RoleReporting to the Communications and Events Manager, the Communications Officer supports the delivery of communications activities that strengthen AIEF's brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement.
The role is responsible for developing and distributing high-quality content, maintaining digital communication channels and supporting communications requirements across campaigns, publications and events.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Communications Officer will have responsibility for the following:CommunicationsDraft, edit and publish content for internal and external communications, including emails, letters, blog posts, newsletters and stakeholder updatesAssist in the execution of communications campaigns across print, digital and email channelsAdminister the AIEF photo and video librarySocial Media, Design and Digital Channel ManagementDay-to-day administration of AIEF social media platformsMaintain content calendars and scheduling across channelsCurate, schedule and publish content across social media platformsEnsure timely updates of the AIEF Intranet and websiteProduce content including graphics,
videos and presentationsPrint and ProductionSupport production of the AIEF Annual Report and other organisational publicationsSupport development of communications materials including digital assets and reportsMedia MonitoringMonitor daily news, media mentions, social media and online channels to identify emerging issues, risks, opportunities and trends, and respond to community engagementPrepare regular media monitoring and coverage reports for the senior teamAssist with maintaining media contact lists and support media engagement activitiesEventsSupport development of event communications including invitations, collateral, presentations, briefing notes and messagingAssist with preparing speeches, presentations and supporting materials for events and stakeholder engagementsLeadership, Team and CollaborationWork collaboratively across teams to ensure a cohesive and consistent experience for all AIEF stakeholdersParticipate in and contribute to organisation-wide events, projects and initiatives that require an all hands-on-deck approachSupport the maintenance of the AIEF style manual and advise colleagues on style requirementsContribute to continuous improvement of processes, systems and practicesRequired CapabilitiesSkills and attributesMotivation to contribute to AIEF's work and missionDemonstrated alignment with AIEF's values: Authenticity, Tenacity and Audacity, Passion, Best Practice Pacemakers and LoyaltyStrong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills,
