The role involves advocacy, health promotion, community engagement, and collaboration with health providers to improve immunisation outcomes and overall wellbeing for Aboriginal people across the Murrumbidgee region.Your responsibilities will include;Deliver culturally safe health promotion,



education and advocacy activities to improve immunisation uptake and health outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities.Build solid relationships with Aboriginal community members, schools, health services and key stakeholders to support vaccination programs and community engagement.Use immunisation data to identify priorities and develop targeted strategies for children, adolescents and adults across the region.Support clients to access healthcare and other community services by providing liaison, navigation, referrals and ongoing support.Work collaboratively with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal health staff to implement initiatives that improve immunisation coverage and reduce barriers to care.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:This is an identified position in accordance with Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****.
Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.Aboriginal Health Workers: will be required to complete a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works, or willingness to obtain within 2 years of commencement.Aboriginal Health Practitioner: will be required to hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and hold a current registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
