Following the retirement of their long-standing senior geologist, and ahead of anticipated joint venture and earn-in agreements, they are seeking an experienced Exploration Manager to rebuild and lead their technical team.The OpportunityReporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of exploration strategy and technical delivery across a portfolio of copper and gold projects, with copper-nickel-PGE experience highly regarded.
You will manage at least one geologist directly and coordinate field campaigns in conjunction with an established labour-hire and consulting group who supply field geologists and assistants on a contract basis.
This is an opportunity to lead technical strategy at a pivotal time, as the business prepares for potential joint venture and earn-in partnerships.Key ResponsibilitiesLead technical and exploration strategy across copper and gold projectsManage and mentor at least one geologist, rebuilding technical team capabilityCoordinate field campaigns in conjunction with contracted field geologists and assistantsOversee project geology, targeting, and interpretation of exploration dataSupport due diligence and technical positioning ahead of joint venture and earn-in discussionsLiaise with consultants and contractors engaged during the interim period,



ensuring continuity of technical knowledgePrepare technical reports and updates for management and prospective partnersEnsure exploration activities are compliant with relevant safety and regulatory requirementsAbout YouQualifications & ExperienceDegree in Geology or related disciplineSignificant experience in copper and gold explorationCopper-nickel-PGE experience highly regardedExperience operating at exploration manager or senior geologist levelPrior experience managing or mentoring junior geologists and coordinating field teamsTechnical SkillsStrong technical geology skills across target generation, drill programs and resource interpretationExperience working alongside contracted field geologists and labour-hire arrangementsFamiliarity with the technical due diligence requirements of joint venture and earn-in agreementsPersonal AttributesComfortable operating autonomously and rebuilding a technical functionStrong communication skills, able to engage with management, partners and field personnelWillingness to travel to project sites in the Charters Towers regionWhat's on OfferPlay a lead technical role ahead of anticipated JV and earn-in agreementsBrisbane-based role with FIFO consideration for candidates based elsewhere on the east coastCompetitive salary package based on experiencePerformance-based bonus structureStrong long-term career growth opportunities within a growing exploration businessLocationBrisbane-based, with projects located in the Charters Towers region of Queensland.
