To help usachieve this we are seeking anexperienced Manager Procurementto join our team.Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the ManagerProcurement leads Council's procurement, contract management and storesfunctions, managing and coaching a team of nine procurement professionals.This is a key leadership role responsible for shapingCouncil's procurement strategy, probity, governance and commercial practices.
You willprovide expert advice to the CFO, Executive and business leaders on complex,high-risk and high-value procurement and contract matters, while ensuringprocurement processes are transparent, compliant and deliver value for money.Working collaboratively across Council, you will driveprocurement planning, sourcing, category management and supplier performance,balancing robust governance with responsive customer service.
You will alsooversee procurement systems, policies, reporting, training, stores operationsand inventory management.Success in this role will come from your ability to buildtrusted relationships, lead and develop a high-performing team, strengthenprocurement capability across the organisation and deliver commercially soundoutcomes that support Council's strategic objectives.On a typical day this role will:Lead, coach andsupport a multidisciplinary team to deliver responsive, high-qualityprocurement and stores services.Advise the CFO,Executive and senior leaders on sourcing strategies, tendering, contractmanagement and complex commercial risks.Provide strategicprobity and governance advice and oversee procurement processes to ensurefairness, transparency, accountability and compliance.Guide complex,high-risk or financially material procurements to achieve defensible decisionsand value-for-money outcomes.Revieworganisational expenditure, supply markets, contract performance and supplierperformance, translating insights into sourcing and improvement opportunities.Partner withbusiness areas to plan upcoming procurements, resolve commercial andcontractual issues, and improve contract outcomes.Strengthenprocurement policies, procedures, systems, reporting, training and templates toimprove organisational capability and user experience.Oversee contractregisters, compliance monitoring, supplier performance, stores operations andinventory control.To succeed in this role you will have:Degree levelqualifications relevant to the role or an equivalent combination ofqualifications and experienceExtensive experience ingovernment procurement,
