We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wood Machinist to join our Cutting Services team at Plyco Pty Ltd in Fairfield, VIC.
This is a full-time position based at our manufacturing facility.
As a Wood Machinist, you will play a crucial role in our production operations, utilising your expertise to operate and maintain woodworking machinery whilst ensuring quality output and safe working practices.
This position is central to our ability to deliver high-quality timber and plywood products to our customers, and offers the opportunity to work with modern equipment in a professional environment.Key responsibilitiesOperate a range of industrial woodworking machinery including panel saws , beam saws and CNC machines with precision and accuracySet up and adjust machinery to required specifications, ensuring optimal performance and consistencyMonitor production runs and maintain accurate records of output and any issues encounteredInspect finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy, identifying and addressing defectsPerform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure safe and efficient operationFollow all health and safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a clean and organised work areaCommunicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production schedules and any concernsTroubleshoot machinery problems and report significant issues to maintenance staffContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisationWhat we're looking forProven experience as a Wood Machinist or in a similar woodworking production role, preferably within a manufacturing environmentSound knowledge of all timber based panel products such as plywood ,



particleboard and MDFProficiency in operating industrial woodworking machinery safely and effectivelyStrong understanding of health and safety requirements relevant to woodworking and machinery operationAbility to read drawings and specifications accuratelyAttention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistent quality standardsGood mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesPhysical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and manual handling of materialsRelevant certifications or qualifications in woodworking or machinery operation are advantageousWhat we offerWorking at Plyco Pty Ltd, you will be part of a well-established company in the timber and plywood industry.
