Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Fitter Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to specified designs.
The role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
This role will be based in Hallam, Victoria.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to perform machining operations such as cutting, drilling, milling, and turningInterpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet design specifications and quality standardsDiagnose and resolve machining issues and make necessary adjustments to machine settings and programs.Fit and assemble machined parts and components using hand tools and precision instruments.Ensure proper alignment and fit of components,



making adjustments as needed to achieve the desired specifications.Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.Maintain accurate records of machining operations, including setup sheets, production logs, and inspection reportsEnsure all machining processes comply with company standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.Identify opportunities for improving machining processes, reducing cycle times, and increasing efficiency.QualificationsEducationCertificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent).
ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist/fitter in a manufacturing environment.SkillsProficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
Strong knowledge of machining processes and precision measurement tools.Technical KnowledgeFamiliarity with CAD/CAM software, G-code programming, and machine tool operation.SalaryMinimum $79,500Why work with us?
