Job Type: Maximum Term - Full Time - 12 MonthsLocation: Murray BridgeJob Category: Early InterventionAboriginal Family Support Services is the leading Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been providing services to Aboriginal families and communities across South Australia for over 40 yearsJob DescriptionIntensive Family Services (IFS)Families become involved with the AFSS Intensive Family Service when they are referred by services such as DCP, health, education and housing.
The IFS program aims for a robust cultural connection to family, community and culture while addressing child protection concerns.The IFS program is committed to keeping children safely at home and to empower families to cope with specific challenges they are facing.Job Location - Murray Bridge based: Servicing Murray, Mallee and Riverland RegionAs a Case Worker you willRelate positively and respectfully to Aboriginal people and communities, be open to listen and learn, show humility and be non-judgemental and sensitive to individual and community needs.Expected to assist families to identify, acknowledge and address child protection concerns using a strength and risks-based,
family-centred and culturally responsive practice approach.Engage with families by being empathic and building rapport; to assist the family to be motivated to change; and to build and maintain a therapeutic relationship during the course of intervention.Actively manage the completion of administrative tasks including data reporting and the use of AFSS processes and tools to manage workloads and priorities.Maintain and model an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement in the provision of services to internal and external customers.What you needA Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or similar, as required by our funding contracts), or must obtain qualification within 12 months of starting the role.A current South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC)A current National Police CheckA Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Through Their Eyes) CertificateA current and full South Australian Driver's LicenseUnrestricted eligibility to work in AustraliaQualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences or Community Services or similar.Working in a not-for-profit agency you can salary sacrifice to increase your take home pay.Applications close COB Wednesday 26th August
