We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our clients Group Finance team.
This is an excellent prospect for someone looking to build on their accounting experience in a supportive environment while gaining exposure across a broad range of finance functions.Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department by supporting month-end processes, reconciliations, reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting activities.About the RoleAs the Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:Assisting with month-end close, including journals, prepayments, accruals and adjustmentsPerforming bank, credit card, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliationsProcessing financial transactions including capital expenditure, rebates and intercompany rechargesMaintaining the fixed asset register and processing related journalsSupporting Accounts Payable,



Accounts Receivable and payroll functions using both Exflow and WiiseAssisting with audit preparation and compliance requirementsPreparing monthly and quarterly rebate calculationsEnsuring accurate GST and tax codingIdentifying opportunities to improve finance processes and internal controlsProviding ad hoc finance support as requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:A tertiary qualification in Accounting or BookkeepingPrevious experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance positionStrong reconciliation and general ledger experienceExcellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracyStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance teamIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills are highly desirableExperience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralExposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payrollExperience with month-end reporting and audit preparationWhat We OfferSupportive and collaborative finance teamDiverse role with exposure across multiple finance functionsOpportunities to develop your accounting skillsFriendly workplace culture where your ideas for process improvement are valued
