MC Support Services is seeking reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our small, supportive team providing individualised support to a participant in the Hervey Bay area.

MC Support Services is seeking reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our small, supportive team providing individualised support to a participant in the Hervey Bay area.
We are looking for reliable, proactive workers who take initiative and provide respectful, person-centred support.
About the Role
The role includes:
Personal care and daily living support
PEG feeding and medication administration
Mealtime support and dysphagia management
Community access, outings and activities
Positive behaviour support
Domestic assistance
Supporting choice, independence and quality of life
Completing required documentation
Working both independently and alongside another support worker during 2:1 supports
Participant-specific training and orientation will be provided.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Is reliable, patient and respectful
Takes initiative and can identify what needs to be done without always being prompted
Is proactive and willing to assist with tasks that support the participant and household
Can work independently and use appropriate judgement within their role
Has a good sense of humour and can build genuine rapport
Is confident working with a non-verbal participant
Can recognise and respond to non-verbal communication, pain, discomfort and changes in wellbeing
Can follow support plans,



medication plans and workplace procedures
Is comfortable providing personal care
Works well as part of a small team
Has good communication and documentation skills
Previous disability, aged care or similar support experience is highly regarded.
Requirements
Applicants must have or be willing to obtain:
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR
Current Australian driver's licence
Relevant disability/community services qualification or demonstrated relevant experience
Required online learning modules as part of orientation and annual training
Experience or training in the following is desirable:
PEG feeding
Medication administration
Dysphagia and mealtime management
Positive behaviour support
Supporting people with complex needs
Additional participant-specific training will be provided where required.
Employment
Employment type: Casual
Award: SCHADS Award – classification based on qualifications, experience and duties
Location: Booral / Hervey Bay area
Regular shifts are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, including:
8:00 am – 4:00 pm
8:00 am – 12:30/1:00 pm
Additional shifts may also be available for leave and staff coverage.
