ConX Hire is seeking a talented and experienced Financial Controller to join our ConX Hire team in Shepparton, VIC on a full-time basis.
This is a pivotal position within our finance function, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's financial health and compliance with regulatory requirements, whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of the organisation.What you'll be doingManaging and overseeing all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functionsPreparing and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standardsDeveloping and implementing financial policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiencyConducting financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvementManaging the annual budget process, including forecasting, budget preparation and monitoring actual performance against budgetsOverseeing tax compliance, including tax planning, preparation of tax returns and liaison with external tax advisorsManaging relationships with external auditors and preparing documentation for auditsProviding financial advice and support to management to facilitate informed decision-makingLeading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvementEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and regulatory requirementsWhat we're looking forTertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline, with professional accounting qualifications (such as CPA, CA or CIMA)



highly desirableMinimum 5-7 years' experience in a financial controller or senior finance management role within a medium to large organisationExtensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and taxation requirements relevant to AustraliaProficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with MYOB, Xero or similar platforms is advantageousStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights to support strategic planningExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholdersDemonstrated experience in managing and developing finance teams, with strong leadership and interpersonal capabilitiesMeticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting and record-keepingAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial management toolsStrong understanding of internal controls, risk management and audit requirementsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesWhat we offerConX Hire is committed to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of our employees.
