We believe in a collaborative staff culture and staff engagement, playing to people's strengths and providing opportunities for development and growth.THE ROLEThe School Assistant - TAS is a role within the College's Technology & Applied Studies (TAS) Programmes, working within the Trade Skills Centre & Technology Hub.
The role works closely with teaching staff in the preparation, delivery and follow up of classes to ensure that all classes are delivered in a safe and effective manner that maximises learning outcomes for students.
The School Assistant - TAS will assist teachers as required and ensure that at all times rooms comply with relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislation.The job will entail some lifting and cleaning responsibilities requiring the successful applicant to possess sound levels of health and fitness.This role is 32 hours per week, days and hours by negotiation.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain equipment and machineryKeep equipment maintenance records and regularly check workshops for WHS issuesEnsure safe operating procedures (SOPs)



are visible for all equipmentProcessing and preparing resources and materialsWorking as part of a teamClean all work areas after practical classesPrepare equipment and materials for demonstration for classroom teacherMaintain stores of staple materialsOrdering of materialsAssist students as directed by class teacherAssist class teacher with demonstrations when requiredAssist with setting up events and displays for the TAS departmentAttend appropriate professional development experiences relating to role to expand knowledge base and extend professional networksOther tasks as directedEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSQualifications in Trades or Technology are not a requirement for the position but would be highly regardedDemonstrated understanding of WHS legislation and how it impacts on teaching students in a practical workshop environmentExperience and/or qualifications in the appropriate areas relating to WHS (including but not limited to use of woodworking equipment, laser cutter/engravers and 3D printing) is desirableExperience within a secondary school environment would be advantageousCurrent NSW Working with Children CheckFirst Aid CertificatePERSONAL ATTRIBUTESReliable, punctual, and able to manage competing priorities.Calm and composed under pressure.Robust interpersonal and communication skills.STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETYTrinity Anglican College is committed to being a Child Safe organisation.
