This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with Victorian OHS legislation while advancing both physical and psychological safety across diverse laboratory, clinical and office environments.
You will partner with leaders across the organisation to deliver contemporary, risk-based OHS practices, with a strong focus on psychosocial hazard management, prevention, and continuous improvement.What You'll DoLead the development and implementation of OHS strategies that promote a strong, proactive safety cultureEnsure compliance with the Victorian OHS Act, Regulations, and WorkSafe guidance, including psychosocial risk requirementsDrive the identification, assessment and control of psychosocial hazards (e.g. workload, occupational violence, bullying, organisational change)Provide expert advice to senior leaders, managers, and staff on OHS mattersOversee risk management systems including audits, hazard identification and incident investigationsManage WorkCover, injury management and return-to-work programsLead OHS reporting to executive and governance committeesDevelop and deliver training programs that strengthen safety capability,
including psychological safety and respectful behavioursMaintain effective engagement with regulators including WorkSafe VictoriaAbout YouYou are a confident and team-oriented OHS professional with the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
You bring a modern, systems-based approach to safety and are passionate about integrating psychological health into core OHS practice.You will bring:Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)Minimum 5 years' experience in an OHS leadership or advisory roleStrong knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation, including emerging requirements relating to psychosocial hazards and psychological healthDemonstrated experience implementing psychosocial risk management frameworks (hazard identification, risk assessment, controls, consultation, monitoring)Proven ability to develop and embed OHS systems, policies and training programsExperience managing incidents, investigations, and workers compensation/Return to Work processesExcellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skillsExperience in a research, healthcare, or complex risk environment (desirable)How to ApplyIf you feel this role is right for you, please apply with a Cover Letter outlining your interest and experience and your Resume.
