As a small, dynamic, and highly cohesive team, ABF Australia has delivered sustained growth in funds under management, creating a rare opportunity for a junior Database Analyst to join a motivated, high-performing business.Job SummaryData sits at the heart of Barings's research-intensive investment process.
As a Database Analyst, you will support the day-to-day operations of the ABF Australia team, including running daily and monthly data processes.
Over time, you will also contribute to the support, design, build, maintenance,
and enhancement of ABF Australia's database systems.Primary ResponsibilitiesMaintaining and enhancing ABF Australia's existing SQL database architectureExecuting daily and monthly processes critical to portfolio surveillance and investment decisionsDeveloping and improving data processing and reporting solutions using SQL, VBA, Python, and DAXEnsuring the timely and accurate collection of data each dayAdvising on and implementing the best methods to query and extract data for management and client reportingProviding database troubleshooting, bug fixing, and problem resolutionProducing and maintaining comprehensive database system documentationWorking closely and collaboratively with the Research and Data teamQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (required)Strong experience with SQL Server, including database design, optimization, tables, indexes, and stored proceduresAdvanced SQL and Excel skillsExperience with VBA, DAX, and Python (beneficial)Knowledge of fixed income credit markets and market risk, including asset-backed securities (beneficial)A sound understanding of financial mathematics (preferred)Ability to work independently within a small team and manage competing prioritiesStrong communication skills and excellent attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines and resolve challenges efficientlyThe successful applicant will bring enthusiasm, self-motivation,
