Thesuccessful candidate will provide leadership and creative direction for theGlasshouse Regional Gallery, ensuring effective stewardship of Council's artcollection and the delivery of a diverse, high-quality exhibition and eventsprogram that engages the community and enhances the region's cultural profile.To succeed in thisrole, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Visual Arts, Fine Arts,Arts Management, Museum Studies or a related discipline, along with extensiveexperience in a comparable role within a gallery, museum or cultural institution.You will bring demonstrated expertise in exhibition development, curation, andcollection management, supported by robust leadership capability and experiencedelivering both strategic and operational outcomes.To succeedin this role you will have:Demonstratedexpertise in exhibition development, curation, design and collection managementwithin a gallery or cultural institution.Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring anddeveloping staff and volunteers.Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with theability to influence, present and work effectively with diverse audiences,artists and partners.Thorough knowledge of gallery operations, including relevant legislation,policies, procedures, and industry standards in NSW.Proven ability to plan and deliver exhibitions, events, workshops, and publicprogram initiatives that drive participation and audience growth.Strong financial, analytical and strategic skills, with experience managingbudgets, using data to inform decisions,
and fostering partnerships withcultural organisations and funding bodies.Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)On atypical day this role will:Lead and manage the planning, programming and delivery of the GlasshouseRegional Gallery's annual exhibition and events program.Curate exhibitions and develop engaging artistic, cultural and educationalprograms for diverse community and school audiences.Oversee day-to-day gallery operations, ensuring compliance with industrystandards and best practice.Manage and care for Council's art collection in accordance with policy andprofessional standards.Build strong relationships with artists, cultural organisations, governmentand funding partners, while seeking grant funding, sponsorship and partnershipopportunities.Collaborate across teams and lead staff and volunteers to enhance visitorexperience, while monitoring visitation, feedback and financial performance todrive continuous improvement and audience growth.Remuneration and BenefitsEmployment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours perweekSalary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of $101,015 to $113,067depending on skills and experienceOpportunity for performance-based increases available after 12 monthsFlexiblework arrangements - hybrid working and flexi-timeDiscounted gym membership throughmembership to Fitness PassportAnnual salary increase as per theLocal Government (State)
