We are powered by a dedicated team with more than 800 years of combined lived and professional experience, ensuring culturally safe, person centered, knowledgeable, and effective care.REFOCUS is seeking a Child Case Coordinator – Delegated Authority to join our team and support culturally safe, family-led planning for children and families.This role sits within REFOCUS's Delegated Authority framework and works in close partnership with Child Safety, families, communities, cultural connection, and family participation.This position does not hold statutory case management responsibility.
Statutory case management remains with the Child Safety Officer.About the roleAs a Child Case Coordinator – Delegated Authority, you will:Coordinate culturally protected, family-led planning processesWork alongside families, children, carers, and community supportsMonitor and review reunification, family time, safety, and support plansPrepare evidence-informed recommendations for delegated decisionsSupport strong governance through clear documentation and approval pathwaysWork in close partnership with Child Safety Officers,



Team Leaders, and managementYou will not authorise decisions.
All authorising powers sit with the REFOCUS Chief Executive Officer.
Strong communication, role clarity, and respect for governance processes are essential to this role.Pay and conditionsHourly pay rates range from:Level 1 PPT1 $***** per hour, up to Level 4 PPT 5 $***** per hourClassification level and pay rate are assessed and determined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.What we're looking forWe're looking for someone who:Has a strong commitment to child safety and family-led practiceUnderstands, or is willing to learn, Delegated Authority practiceCan build respectful partnerships with families, communities, and Child SafetyIs organised, reflective, and confident with documentation and review processesValues cultural safety, collaboration, and accountabilityQualifications and experienceRelevant qualification in human services, social work, community services, or a related field, or working towardsExperience in child protection, family support, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services is desirableWillingness to undertake intensive training in child safety legislation, policies, and proceduresTraining and supportEntry-level practitioners will receive intensive training in child safety legislation, policies, procedures, and Delegated Authority practice.
