The position is responsible for the leadership and overall operational effectiveness of the site facility in addition to working closely with the erecting supervisor, customers, sales and distribution suppliers.
Whilst being a leadership position, the role is very hands-on and requires a high level of flexibility particularly given seasonal demand.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Depot Manager to lead our Mildura team and manage depot operations in Mildura, VIC.
This pivotal role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction through solid DIFOT performance, developing new business opportunities and supporting the retention and growth of our customer base in alignment with Abbe's strategic direction.You will oversee safe and efficient operation of the depots facility, ensuring cartons are erected and despatched to meet our customer expectations.
This includes managing equipment, people and administrative processes to deliver high-quality outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesCo-ordinating the distribution of deliveries to customers including load planning and order fulfillmentAllocating tasks for the drivers and forklift operators including the management of casual and seasonal labour resources working alongside FTE of 6-8 operational team members.Work closely with the erecting supervisor for the planning of box erecting to meet customer requirementsCoordinate with in-bound transport operators and coordinate warehouse resourcesCommunicate with customers for deliveriesInventory management across flat and erected boxesFleet maintenance and servicing – forklifts, trucks, carsAssist with tooling changeover, consumable spending basic maintenance, trouble shooting and setup of erecting machines.Assist with the carton erecting process – product creation, product scanning, stock control.Warehouse forklift driving – stock put away, load picking, truck loading.Pallet and Stock control – assist with stock count, ordering of product and inventory accuracy for flat and erected sheet.What you'll bringProven leadership experience in operational and sales environmentsA strategic mindset with the ability to analyse market trends and develop targeted account plansExperience in managing depot operations, production scheduling and logisticsSound understanding of safety, compliance and quality standardsIntermediate to advanced computer skills;A mechanical aptitude and hands‐on approach to problem solving.A desire to lead a willing team and show them how to scale and succeed.What you'll love about AbbeWhen you join Abbe, you're joining a team that values you.
