Job Description
Causmag International is a leading producer of high-grade magnesium products, supplying critical industries across Australia and beyond.
We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to help us maintain and enhance our production capabilities through expert machining, assembly, and equipment maintenance located in Young, NSW Duties and responsibilities
Interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical specificationsPerform fitting and turning operations to manufacture, modify, and repair mechanical components using lathes, milling machines, drills, and grindersMaintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, kilns, mills, loaders, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systemsCarry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on quarry and processing plant equipmentDismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical assembliesDiagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtimeConduct alignment of shafts, bearings, and rotating equipmentPerform minor welding, cutting,



and fabrication tasks as required and incidental to fitting dutiesAssist with installation and commissioning of new or upgraded mechanical equipmentEnsure machinery operates safely and efficiently within production requirementsMaintain tools, workshop equipment, and work areas in protected operating conditionComply with NSW WHS legislation, SWMS, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and site safety systemsComplete maintenance records, job cards, and plant service documentation
Key Skills and Attributes:
Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner (Cert III or equivalent)Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machining processesMinimum 3 years' experience with lathe operation and precision fittingA proactive approach to safety and qualityTeam-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
Salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 PA commensurate with experience Fulltime position available Applications open on 13th July **** and closes on 13th August ****
