Bairnsdale Christian College (BCC) is a Prep-10 co‐ed Christian school located in Bairnsdale VIC.

We are seeking a capable and relational primary teacher who desires to inspire our student community.

Every person involved in our school has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising any issues or concerns about a child's safetyWe are committed to regularly reviewing our child secure practices, and seeking input from our students, families, staff, and volunteers to inform our ongoing strategiesCore Responsibilities & DutiesPlan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of studyHave the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all studentsDemonstrate a commitment to improving professional practice through coaching and professional developmentProvide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standardsParticipate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow the school's child safety and wellbeing policies and proceduresAct in accordance with our Child Safety Code of ConductIdentify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with our Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, including following the Four Critical Actions for SchoolsEnsure students' views are taken seriously and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their livesModel and promote the vision and values of the schoolTeach an area of the curriculum to senior year levelsMaintain records of class attendance and recording student progressImplement effective student management consistent with the school's strategic planAttend and participate in staff meetings as requiredBe actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayerQualificationsEvidence of the right to work in AustraliaProof of identityRecognised teaching qualificationClearance status of the Working with Children Check (where applicable)Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) (or ability to get registration)Statements of service from previous child-connected rolesReferences from previous child-connected rolesYou willBe a committed Christian, comfortable with sharing your faithBe committed to improving student academic outcomesHave high expectations for what students are capable of, both academically and behaviourallyRelate well to staff, students and parents.
