The role involves performing a broad range of diagnostic, maintenance, repair, and modification tasks in line with industry standards.BenefitsCompetitive salary package aligned with experienceOpportunity to work on specialised 4x4 builds and custom projectsSupportive, skilled, and passionate team environmentCareer development opportunities within a growing automotive businessExposure to a diverse range of vehicles and advanced aftermarket systemsTask & responsibilitiesDiagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles and 4x4 systems using appropriate diagnostic equipment and technical manualsCarry out repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking systems, and driveline componentsPerform scheduled servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including oil changes, fluid checks, and component inspectionsDismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicle components, ensuring all parts are tested and functioning correctlyInspect vehicles and identify worn or defective parts, recommending appropriate repairs or replacementsInstall, test, and maintain 4x4 accessories and modifications, including but not limited to: Suspension upgrades (lift kits, shock absorbers)Bull bars, winches, roof racks, and underbody protectionDual battery systems and auxiliary electrical setupsConduct electrical installations and fault-finding, including wiring, lighting systems,
and aftermarket accessoriesPerform full 4x4 vehicle fit-outs, ensuring integration between mechanical and electrical componentsEnsure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines, including relevant Australian Design Rules (ADR) where applicableMaintain accurate service records and job documentationCommunicate with team members and customers regarding repair requirements and timelinesQualification & experienceMinimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic (2–3+ years highly desirable)Relevant qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and servicing across a range of vehicle systemsExperience or strong interest in 4x4 vehicles and aftermarket modifications (highly regarded)Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systemsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentCommitment to workplace safety and high-quality workmanshipAbout CompanyOZ Canopies & 4X4, a reputable and growing provider of premium 4x4 accessories, vehicle modifications, and off-road fit-outs, This position is suited to a mechanically skilled professional with a solid interest in 4x4 vehicles, off-road performance, and vehicle customisation.
