We are seeking a reliable Waste Depot Attendant towork across PMHC Waste Transfer Stations.These are public waste disposal sites where household andcouncil waste is delivered, inspected, and sorted for recycling, resourcerecovery, or landfill.
Resource recovery involves separating materials such asmetal, green waste, cardboard, and other recyclables so they can be reused orprocessed instead of going to landfill.Our Waste Transfer Stations:Receivedomestic, commercial, and council wasteSeparatematerials for recycling and landfill diversionOperateunder strict environmental and safety compliance requirementsManageheavy vehicles and continuous customer trafficRequiremonitoring of waste types and contamination risksYou will work outdoors in all weather conditions, aroundtrucks, machinery, and active waste materials.
This is a hands-on operationalrole involving customer interaction, plant operation, and strict adherence tosafety procedures at all times.In this role you will:Openand close the facility and ensure the site is secured each dayManagepublic access and traffic flow within the siteMonitorthe safety of all people on siteProvideclear and consistent customer service and direction to site usersInspectincoming waste and prevent hazardous or unauthorised waste entering thefacilityDirectcustomers to the correct disposal and recycling areasOperateweighbridge systems (WasteMan) and record waste data accuratelyApplycorrect disposal fees, issue dockets, and handle cash, EFTPOS and vouchersCompletedaily transaction balancing and reconciliationsRespondto customer enquiries in a professional and practical mannerCarryout routine cleaning and general yard maintenanceOperatea forklift and front-end loader (essential requirement)Useminor plant and equipment as required for site operationsWhat you'll needClassC Driver LicenceAbilityto operate a forklift and front-end loader (essential)Experienceoperating plant or machinery in a workplace settingBasiccash handling and reconciliation skillsBasiccomputer and data entry skills (e.g.

Your days andhours of work will be determined by the Waste Services roster.Remuneration and BenefitsEmployment type:Permanent, full-time (averaging 38hours per week, rotating roster)Salary:Starting from $1,****** per week up to $1,******per week (plus 12% super), with competency-based progression available.Progression:First review after 3 months.
Ifprogression is achieved, the increase is backdated to your commencement date.Allowance and penalty rates:Adverse Working Level 2 allowance – currently $***** per week.
Penaltyrates apply for weekend and public holiday work in accordance with the LocalGovernment (State) Award ****.
