Trader House is looking for an Events Manager to join the leadership team at Builders Arms Hotel, recently named Australia's No. 1 gastropub in the Top 50 Gastropubs Awards.We're looking for someone who loves great hospitality, enjoys leading a team and takes pride in delivering memorable events from start to finish.Trader House is a collection of Melbourne and Brisbane's most distinctive restaurants, bars and specialty food stores, led by chef, author and columnist Andrew McConnell and photographer Jo McGann.Our Melbourne venues include Gimlet, Côte Basque, Apollo Inn, Cutler, Supernormal, Cumulus Inc., Marion, Builders Arms Hotel, Meatsmith and Morning Market—with Stokehouse, St Kilda joining the group in October ****.

Built in ****, it has been part of the neighbourhood for generations.With an iconic public bar, bistro, private dining rooms, courtyard and on-street dining, the venue hosts everything from intimate celebrations and business lunches to larger private events.About the roleAs the Event Manager, you'll take ownership of the operational delivery of our private events and functions.Working closely with our Events, Kitchen and Venue Management teams, you'll ensure every event is prepared thoroughly, runs smoothly and delivers the standard of hospitality our guests expect.Your responsibilities will include:Leading and briefing the event team before serviceCoordinating event setup,
timing and pack-downActing as the primary point of contact for organisers during their eventActively leading service alongside the management teamEnsuring dietary requirements, beverage selections and event details are delivered accuratelyWorking closely with the kitchen and management team throughout serviceTraining and developing team membersAnticipating problems and resolving them calmly and professionallyBuilding relationships with organisers that encourage repeat businessWhat you'll bringStrong hospitality experience and a genuine passion for serviceConfidence leading a team during busy services and eventsAn interest in food, wine and beerExcellent organisation and attention to detailStrong communication and problem-solving skillsThe ability to multitask while remaining calm under pressureA desire to develop your hospitality knowledge and leadership skillsPrevious events experience is highly regarded, although we're equally interested in experienced hospitality professionals looking to move further into events.Why work at Builders Arms Hotel?
