Procurement OfficerCommercial Procurement, Supplier Management, Sourcing & NegotiationIf you're a procurement professional who enjoys getting behind the numbers, challenging suppliers, negotiating better commercial outcomes and finding smarter ways to secure supply, this could be a very interesting next move.We're working with a well-established, global organisation within the packaging and manufacturing sector to appoint a commercially minded Procurement Officer.What you'll actually be doingYou'll work directly with suppliers to:Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, MOQs and commercial termsManage and develop key supplier relationshipsSource new and alternative suppliersRun supplier quotes, tenders and commercial reviewsChallenge and negotiate supplier price increasesMonitor supplier performance across cost, quality, service and deliveryIdentify and mitigate supply risks before they become problemsWork closely with Supply Planning, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Quality, Operations and FinanceAnalyse supplier pricing, spend, performance and market movementsSupport new business opportunities through competitive sourcingDrive supplier improvement and corrective actionsContribute to procurement projects, process improvement and ERP/data initiativesIn other words, you'll have genuine influence over what the business buys,



who it buys it from and what it pays.We're interested in procurement professionals who have already had exposure to commercial supplier management and negotiation.We're looking for approximately 3-5 years' relevant experience, ideally gained within:Procurement / purchasingManufacturingPackagingFMCG / consumer goodsDistribution / wholesaleSupply chainLogisticsAnother commercially focused supplier environmentYou don't necessarily need packaging experience.What's more important is that you can demonstrate:You've negotiated with suppliers - not just ordered from themYou're comfortable challenging pricing and commercial termsYou can build solid supplier relationships while still holding suppliers accountableYou understand lead times, supply risk, quality and serviceYou're commercially and analytically mindedYou're confident working with ERP systems and ExcelYou can manage multiple suppliers, projects and prioritiesWhy this role?
