Based in the Warrnambool, Victoria, we are now looking for a Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to assist with day-to-day farm management.About YouYou must be reliable, physically fit and willing to work as part of a teamYou understand the importance of personal hygiene, attention to detail and following proceduresYou have the right to work in Australia (38 hrs per week)You have minimum 1 years previous related experienceCertificate II or III agriculture (or equivalent assessed by relevant authority) would be prefered, but not essentialYou must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if requiredYou have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination processAbout The RoleAssist in controlled breeding experiments to develop improved livestock strainsOperate milking plant and equipment in a safe manner, undertake multiple functions including reading and recording instrument information e.g.,



milk vat temperaturesand cow numbers and matching cow ID to calves to produce a quality milk outcomeOperate a dairy recycling systemCalf feeding, including tubing colostrumAssisting with and/or performing irrigation worksInspect livestock to gauge the effectiveness of feed formulaeTransport, handle and store chemicals; prepare and apply chemicalsOperate farm and dairy shed-related vehicles, plant and equipmentIdentify and report equipment not operating normally, maintenance of plant and machineryWhere appropriately qualified, perform maintenance works on sheds, fixtures and fittings, fences and surrounds and install new or replacement equipment or fittingsTransport stock, feed and equipment, if appropriately licensedMaintain records to ensure accurate information for stock and inventory controlEnsure food safety regulatory requirements are metContribute to and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) requirementsOperate computer equipment and software packages requiring set-up and basic function operationCoordinate the response to emergencies for both occupational health and safety emergencies and animal welfare emergenciesParticipate in enterprise/industry training sessions and workshops as requiredWhat We OfferSafe and supportive work environmentOpportunity for career progression within our global organisationSalary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 AUDPlease note only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.The Union Pastoral Co is proud to be an equal prospect employer
