As an Employment Coach within Mission Australia's Inclusive Employment Australia Service, you'll walk alongside people living with disability, injury or health conditions as they take steps toward sustainable employment and greater independence.
Working from a strengths-based, participant-led approach, you'll support individuals to overcome barriers, build confidence, develop job readiness skills and connect with inclusive employers who recognise their potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity to create lasting change, helping people achieve employment goals while contributing to more inclusive communities across Australia.Key responsibilitiesBuild authentic, respectful relationships with participants as their primary point of contact throughout their employment journeySupport participants through engagement, pre-employment, employment and post-employment phases of the programComplete assessments to identify strengths, skills, experience and barriers to employmentDevelop individualised employment and goal plans aligned to participant aspirations and needsProvide practical job readiness support including resumes, cover letters,
interview preparation and job search strategiesFacilitate group activities that build participant confidence, capability and work-life skillsAdvocate for participants with employers, government agencies and community support servicesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with local employers to create employment opportunities and workplace inclusionEnsure accurate participant records, case notes, reporting and compliance activities are completed within required timeframesContribute to service development, community engagement activities and continuous improvement initiativesBuild productive relationships with tenants, contractors, consultants, government agencies and internal stakeholdersRequirements for successCertificate III or IV in Community Services, Employment Services, Career Counselling or a related discipline, or a willingness to work towards achieving oneStrong customer service experience with the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationshipsExperience supporting people facing barriers to employment, education or personal development and working with people living with disability and other vulnerable community memberAbility to manage a caseload,
