Indigeco is recruiting a Project Engineer, Electrical for our client, a leading Australian energy infrastructure business.
This is a permanent chance based initially in Brisbane, before transitioning to a regional Queensland project site near Cogan during the construction phase.This owner-side role will support the delivery of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for a major gas-fired peaking power plant project, with a strong focus on construction oversight, technical compliance, contractor management and commissioning.THE COMPANYOur client is a major energy infrastructure organisation delivering critical projects across Australia.
This is an opportunity to join a permanent project delivery team, work across the full project lifecycle and contribute to future energy infrastructure projects beyond the current construction phase.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESOversee electrical construction activities to ensure works are delivered in line with approved designs, specifications, standards and client requirementsManage electrical contractors, OEMs and consultants across schedule, cost, quality, safety and technical performanceReview electrical designs, contractor documentation, work packs, inspection and test plans, procedures and technical submissionsSupport testing and commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, energisation, grid compliance and defect resolutionCoordinate technical interfaces across electrical, instrumentation, SCADA, communications, civil,



mechanical and commissioning teamsMonitor construction progress, identify risks and issues, and support practical solutions to keep delivery on trackEnsure contractors deliver works safely, to the required quality standard and in accordance with project proceduresYOUR REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent recognised qualificationMinimum 10 years' experience in electrical engineering, construction or major project deliveryDemonstrated experience on large, complex and long-duration infrastructure, energy or industrial projectsStrong contractor management and electrical construction oversight experiencePractical knowledge across high-voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, SCADA, communications or control systems will be highly regardedExperience supporting electrical testing, commissioning, energisation or grid compliance activities will be highly regardedWillingness to work 2 weeks on site and 1 week off roster for approximately two years during the construction phaseYOUR PERKSApproximately $160K to $180K Total Fixed Remuneration, depending on capability and experience8% Short-Term Incentive opportunity30% site uplift during the applicable site-based project phasePermanent role with exposure to a major gas-fired power generation construction projectOpportunity to work as part of the asset owner's project delivery team, with access to a broader pipeline of future major energy infrastructure projects
