This role will be offered on a full-time permanent basis, with the opportunity of part-time hours available.The Medical Education Unit is located at South Brisbane and is responsible for delivering high quality medical education and support for Resident Medical Officers across Mater South Brisbane and Mater Springfield.The Medical Education Unit is committed to excellence through best-practice education, simulation-based learning and innovative strategies that foster a professional learning environment where Resident Medical Officers at Mater can learn, develop and thrive.

What you'll be doingThe Medical Education Officer (MEO) role will work as part of the Medical Education Services team to develop, deliver and evaluate medical education to prevocational medical staff, to ensure ongoing training, governance and accreditation requirements are met.Specifically, the focus of this role will be:Supporting the implementation of strategic and operational plans for Mater's prevocational medical education, accreditation, assessment,



and evaluation in line with specific governance and accreditation requirementsCoordination and facilitation of orientation and onboarding programs for new prevocational and vocational medical staff to Mater in collaboration with other key stakeholdersFacilitating Basic Life Support and Manual/Patient Handling requirementsCoordination of contemporary, evidenced-based prevocational medical education programs, involvement with clinical skills facilitation and evaluations occurring after each sessionThis role will report directly to the Director Medical Education and Workforce and will work collaboratively across the Medical Education Unit (MEU) as well as the broader Mater Education Team to provide a coordinated level of support to all medical staff at Mater.About youRegistered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - NursingHigh level of interpersonal communication skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively across a broad range of professional levels and streamsPrevious work experience as a clinician (desirable)Robust patient centred care focus on all aspects of training and developmentHigh level knowledge and experience in simulation as a teaching methodologyStrong understanding of interprofessional education, collaboration and careMater is Queensland's largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
