Bouchier Khan Lawyers is seeking an experienced Criminal Law Solicitor to join our team in Ipswich, Queensland.
As a Criminal Law Solicitor, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional legal services and representation to clients facing criminal charges or investigations.The role will be predominantly based in our Ipswich office, but may require travel and appearances throughout Southeast Queensland.
You will have an opportunity to expand your reputation and skillset through intensive practice in a highly specialised area.What you'll be doingRepresenting clients in court proceedings, including bail applications, pleas, sentencing and trialsConducting thorough case assessments and developing effective legal strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for clientsProviding clear and informed advice to clients on their legal rights and obligationsConducting legal research, preparing court documents and briefs, and engaging in ongoing case managementCollaborating with the broader legal team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to client mattersMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant criminal laws, regulations and court proceduresWhat we're looking forA Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a current practising certificate in QueenslandPost admission experience (1+ years) in criminal law practice, with a proven track record of successful client outcomes will be highly regardedStrong advocacy, negotiation and communication skills,
with the ability to effectively represent clients in courtExcellent research, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesConfidence to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholdersA commitment to providing exceptional client service and maintaining the highest standards of qualified ethicsThe ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environmentThe capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, to regular deadlines, with demonstrated resilience and an ability to work in challenging situationsHold a current drivers licenseAustralian work authorisation is required for this positionWhat we offerAt Bouchier Khan Lawyers, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team.
