With a strong focus on technical accuracy and continuous improvement, they offer a supportive environment where surveying professionals can develop their careers while contributing directly to site production outcomes.The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join the Technical Services Department on a 15 days on, 13 days off day-shift roster.
This is a key role supporting Operations through the delivery of accurate survey data, design set outs and volume reporting that underpin daily production targets.
You'll work closely with mine planners, operations personnel and geotechnical teams, making this an ideal opportunity for a surveyor who enjoys variety, autonomy and cross-departmental collaboration on an active open cut site.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding reliable survey control to the mining operationCompiling survey data and mine plansSupporting mine planners and operations through pit design set outs, topographic surveys, data reduction, volume calculations and reportingProducing accurate survey data in accordance with statutory and company standardsConducting engineering surveys for mine infrastructure and end-of-month volumetric calculationsMonitoring geotechnical hazards with a focus on health, safety and environmental considerationsUpdating mine models,
mining plans and statutory plansMaintaining strong communication and liaison between departments and stakeholdersPromoting a secure, healthy, cooperative and productive work environmentAbout YouTertiary qualification in Spatial Science (Surveying) or similarMinimum 5 years' experience in a similar surveying role, preferably within open cut mining operationsQueensland Survey Registration (or WA Grade 2 Survey qualification), or the ability to obtain registration within 6 monthsRePL qualification with demonstrated UAV operational experienceStrong knowledge of surveying principles and practices, with experience using Trimble GPS, Total Stations and I-Site scannersExperience updating survey data files to GDA****, including batch conversionsProficiency in Surpac and advanced Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experience with machine guidance software such as Guidex and Trimble Earthworks, and fleet management systems such as Haul TraxCurrent C Class Open Driver Licence and current First Aid CertificateStrong reporting, verbal and written communication skillsHighly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlinesRole HighlightsAttractive 15 days on / 13 days off roster - day shift only, offering an excellent work-life balancePlay a key role within the Technical Services team on an active open cut operationBroad scope of work spanning design, drone surveying, geotechnical monitoring and reportingGenuine career development within a technically focused, collaborative team environment
