Whether it's a dip to cool off, a splash for fun, learning to swim or lap swimming, users will not be disappointed with the range of activities and programs at each of the pools.About the RoleAs a Lifeguard at Cobden Outdoor Pool, you'll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors.
You'll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and protected.
Duties of the role include:Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool areaMaintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problemsEnsuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practicesCarrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipmentThis is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $***** + Super.About YouWe are seeking motivated, organised and pro-active team members to come and join the team.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children,
young people and all facility users.
Other required qualities are:Ability to make decisions while under pressureBeing able to manage conflicts with patrons and usersAbility to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environmentAbility to multitaskProviding excellent customer service for all members and guestsExperience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regardedEssential QualificationsAquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary ResuscitationHLTAID011 Provide First AidBenefitsAt the Y Victoria we value our people.
