You'll use a strengths-based approach to help participants build independence, develop life skills, and achieve personal goals.This opportunity is open to experienced support workers and those recent to the sector who are motivated to make a meaningful contribution and committed to learning and growing in the role.What's on offer?

and community accessUse daily routines to provide hands on training of life skills such as cooking, personal care and budgetingSupport and manage individuals behaviours utilising Positive Behaviour Support PlansComplete daily case notes, admin tasks and incident reportsSkills and requirementsExperience supporting people with disability, either professionally or through lived experienceOR a genuine interest in entering the field of work with relevant study completed or in progressCert IV in Mental Health or Mental Health First Aid (desirable,not essential)Effective interpersonalcommunication skillsComputer proficiency for documentationFlexible availability to work a rotating roster (may include day, afternoon and active night, sleepovers and weekend shifts)Physicalcapabilitytoperformmanual handling tasksMust hold or be willing to obtain if successfulPaid Workers Blue Card (Working with Children Check)NDIS Workers Screening Check (Yellow Card)Child Safety Personal History Check (LCS2)National Crime Check (IFYS will complete a new check through our systems)Current First Aid CertificateCurrent QLD Driver Licence and willingness to use your own roadworthy, comprehensively insured vehicle (if required)Other requirementsIf you progress beyond the interview stage, you'll be asked to provide contact details for two line managers to complete reference checks.
