Join a new centralised sourcing function and help deliver better procurement outcomes across the City of MelbourneClassification 5 ($101,498 - $114,243)+ 12% SuperannuationAbout the roleAs part of the Next Generation Procurement Strategy, the City of Melbourne is establishing a new centralised sourcing function within the Procurement and Commercial Management branch.
This initiative will centralise RFQ and quotation activity for low volume branches, reducing procurement effort for operational teams, improving visibility and governance, and delivering stronger value for money outcomes across the organisation.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a newly established function that will play an important role in supporting procurement outcomes across the organisation.As the Sourcing Specialist, you will support the delivery of the centralised sourcing service by managing RFQs, coordinating supplier engagement, supporting quotation activities and ensuring compliant procurement outcomes.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will help streamline sourcing processes, improve efficiency and contribute to better commercial outcomes across the City of Melbourne.A little more about the roleIn this role you will:Coordinate RFQ and quotation activities across agreed branchesSupport stakeholders through the end to end sourcing and quotation processPrepare, manage and track quotations to ensure timely delivery and complianceLiaise with suppliers throughout sourcing activitiesSupport value for money outcomes through effective sourcing practicesAssist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficienciesMonitor quotation performance,



turnaround times and service outcomesProvide reporting and analysis on sourcing activity and supplier usageEnsure procurement processes comply with governance requirements and organisational policiesSupport development of specifications and sourcing documentationMaintain accurate procurement records and supporting documentationContribute to a positive customer experience for internal stakeholders and suppliersAbout youYou are an organised and customer focused procurement professional who enjoys working collaboratively to deliver practical solutions.You bring strong attention to detail, effective communication skills and a passion for improving processes and service delivery.
You enjoy working across multiple priorities, building relationships and helping stakeholders navigate procurement requirements.You are motivated by achieving quality outcomes, delivering excellent customer service and contributing to the success of a growing procurement function.What your experience might look likeExperience in procurement, sourcing, contracts administration or a related commercial roleExperience coordinating RFQs,



quotations or purchasing activitiesStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomesExperience working within procurement governance and compliance frameworksStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience using procurement, sourcing or contract management systemsAbility to analyse information and identify process improvement opportunitiesRelevant qualifications in procurement, business, commerce, supply chain or a related disciplineBenefits of working with usAttractive remuneration & benefits: Excellent pay package with a range of exciting benefits.
