Primary DetailsTime Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeMelbourne or Parramatta12-month fixed term contract opportunity, full-time hoursHybrid working – a mix of in office and work from homeThe opportunityThis is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the transition and ongoing management of QBE's Trade Credit & Surety portfolio following its divestment to Swiss Re.
In this 12-month contract, you'll lead a high-profile business transition while shaping the future management of the portfolio.
You'll also oversee a portfolio of underwriting agencies, providing governance support and partnering with stakeholders across Claims, GSSC, Finance, Operations and Swiss Re.

As part of the QBE team, you'll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.Your current roleLead the transition of the back-book claims and payments portfolio, ensuring readiness across people, processes and systemsManage QBE's obligations under the Back-Book Management Agreement and oversee the ongoing run-off portfolioPartner with Swiss Re to manage Trade Credit & Surety claims, governance, reporting and performance outcomesApprove claims payments,



oversee litigation matters and ensure compliance with governance requirementsAct as the subject matter expert for Trade Credit & Surety across Claims and OperationsManage relationships with external underwriting agencies, driving performance, governance and continuous improvement initiativesAnalyse customer, regulatory and operational outcomes to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunitiesPartner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strong business and customer outcomesAbout YouExperience in claims management, ideally across complex portfolios, transitions or run-off booksProven ability to deliver projects, manage change and operate effectively in business transition environmentsTechnical expertise in Trade Credit, Surety, Financial Lines or Specialty Claims (desirable)Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead, influence and collaborate across teamsCommercially minded, with a focus on governance, operational delivery and achieving outcomesExcellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on when neededBenefitsWe offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances.
