UnitingCare Lithgow is seeking Direct Care Workers to join our teams in Lithgow and Bathurst.We are currently recruiting casual Direct Care Workers, with a genuine chance to transition into permanent employment for the right people.If you're looking for meaningful work, long-term opportunities and a supportive team where your contribution genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.Our Direct Care Workers provide high-quality, person-centred support across our Disability and Aged Care services.
Depending on the needs of the people you support, you may work in their homes, in-centre programs or within the community.Positions are available in both locations.
When applying, please state whether you are applying for the Lithgow position or the Bathurst position.About the roleAs a Direct Care Worker, you will:Provide respectful and practical support based on each client's individual care planAssist with personal care, daily living activities and community participationSupport clients with different needs, preferences and levels of independenceCommunicate effectively with clients, families, carers, supervisors and other team membersComplete progress notes,
reports and other required documentation accurately and on timeRecord services provided using CareLink and other UCL systemsWork safely and in accordance with UCL policies, procedures and care requirementsContribute positively to a supportive and respectful team environmentThe current role profiles include providing in-home and in-centre services, supporting clients with varying needs, completing required reports and accurately recording services in CareLink.About youWe are looking for someone who has:A caring, patient and respectful approachGood communication and relationship-building skillsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamThe ability to provide personal care and practical assistance with limited supervisionGood organisation and basic written documentation skillsConfidence using Microsoft 365, mobile devices and client management systemsAn understanding of person-centred support within Disability or Aged Care servicesA Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing, Community Services or a similar qualification would be highly regarded.Previous experience in Disability or Aged Care services, and experience using CareLink, would also be an advantage.
The current role profiles list a relevant Certificate III as preferable and CareLink experience as desirable.The successful applicants will need:A current Class C NSW driver's licenceAccess to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicleAccess to a mobile phoneA current First Aid CertificateA satisfactory Police CheckA Working with Children CheckAn NDIS Worker Screening Check
