About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Service Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with the VPS Enterprise Agreement, relevant legislation and departmental policies.
You will be responsible for processing a range of complex payroll transactions through SAP SuccessFactors, while providing accurate and timely advice to employees and managers on payroll, employment conditions and benefits.
Key responsibilities will include:
Processing fortnightly complex payroll transactions through SAP SuccessFactorsProcessing salary overpayments and preparing documentation for recoveryManaging redundancy and separation paymentsProcessing WorkCover-related payroll transactionsProcessing superannuation, including Defined Benefits transactionsEnsuring payroll entries are supported by appropriate documentation and evidenceProviding accurate advice to employees and managers regarding payroll, employment conditions and benefitsResponding to payroll queries through service management systems, including SalesforceInvestigating and resolving payroll issues using effective problem-solving and analytical skillsMaintaining accurate employee data within SAP SuccessFactorsSupporting payroll data remediation, back payments and other payroll correctionsMaintaining accurate records in accordance with legislative,



privacy and information management requirementsContributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems and practices
About You
You are an experienced payroll professional with strong attention to detail and proven experience managing complex payroll transactions within a large and structured environment.
You will bring hands‐on experience with SAP SuccessFactors, particularly Employee Central Payroll and Employee Central, together with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
Ideally, you will have experience working within a Victorian Public Service payroll environment and applying the VPS Enterprise Agreement and relevant Victorian public‐sector employment conditions.
You will also demonstrate:
Robust transactional payroll processing experienceHands‐on experience with SAP SuccessFactors ECP and Employee CentralExperience processing complex payroll transactions including overpayments, back payments, redundancies and separationsStrong knowledge of Australian payroll, taxation and superannuation requirementsExperience with payroll data remediation and maintaining data accuracyExperience processing WorkCover paymentsExperience with Defined Benefits superannuation will be highly regardedStrong understanding of the VPS Enterprise Agreement and Victorian public‐sector payroll conditionsExcellent communication and employee advisory skillsStrong analytical, critical thinking and problem‐solving capabilityAbility to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirementsExperience using Salesforce or a comparable service management platform will be advantageousGovernment or large, complex payroll experience will be highly regarded
