Café Catalina is seeking an experienced and passionate Head-Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Southport, QLD.

As Head-Chef, you will play a crucial leadership role in our kitchen, supporting Our fantastic team of chefs Chef in executing our menu whilst maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation and safety.
Your expertise and dedication will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our valued guests.What you'll be doingAssisting in the planning, designing and executing all menu items with consistency and flairOverseeing kitchen operations during service, ensuring all dishes are prepared to specification and plated to perfectionTraining, supervising and mentoring junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvementMaintaining rigorous food hygiene and safety standards in compliance with all relevant regulations and company policiesManaging food costs and inventory, minimising waste whilst maintaining quality ingredientsMonitoring kitchen equipment and reporting maintenance issues promptly to ensure smooth operationsPreparing and cooking a variety of dishes utilising advanced culinary techniques and presentation skillsCollaborating as Head Chef to develop seasonal specials and innovative menu additionsWhat we're looking forMinimum 5 years' professional cooking experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting, with at least 2 years as a head-chef or senior kitchen roleStrong knowledge of food preparation techniques, ingredients and culinary practices across various cuisinesDemonstrated expertise in kitchen management, including staff supervision, scheduling and performance managementComprehensive understanding of food safety,
