A leading Australian tertiary institution is seeking an experienced PKI Engineer for a 12 month day rate contract with solid potential to extend.
This is an opportunity to work within a large scale, complex IT environment supporting critical education and research infrastructure.You will be responsible for managing and enhancing the organisation's public key infrastructure, focusing on certificate lifecycle management, security compliance and system integration across diverse platforms.Key responsibilities:Design, implement and maintain PKI solutions across enterprise environmentsManage certificate lifecycle including issuance, renewal, revocation and monitoringIntegrate PKI services with identity and access management systemsTroubleshoot certificate-related issues across applications and infrastructureDevelop and maintain PKI policies, procedures and documentationCollaborate with security,



infrastructure and application teams on certificate requirementsMonitor certificate expiry and automate renewal processes where possibleEnsure compliance with security standards and best-practice frameworksRequirements:Proven experience as a PKI Engineer or similar security-focused infrastructure roleStrong knowledge of certificate authorities, certificate lifecycle management and cryptographic conceptsExperience with enterprise PKI platforms such as Microsoft CA, Entrust or similarUnderstanding of SSL/TLS, digital signatures and encryption protocolsFamiliarity with identity and access management integrationScripting skills for automation using PowerShell, Python or similarAbility to work independently and communicate technical concepts to varied audiencesTertiary qualifications in IT, computer science or related discipline preferred
