About the role:
Work across a varied portfolio of statutory insurance matters, includingworker's compensation, Work Injury Damages, industrial common law claims, CTP and dust disease
Manage a busy caseload with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with experienced senior practitioners
Advise clients on liability, quantum, claims strategy and dispute resolution in a constantly evolving legislative environment
Build direct relationships with insurers, employers, self-insurers, brokers and government stakeholders
Appear in relevant commissions and courts, and participate in conferences, mediations and settlement negotiations
Instruct and work closely with medical, liability and investigation experts
Develop deep procedural and technical expertise while building a clear specialization within statutory insurance litigation
The ideal candidate:
Associate or Senior Associate with approximately 3+ years' PQE
Experience inworkers' compensation, Work Injury Damages, statutory insurance, CTP or broader defendant insurance litigation
Demonstrated ability to manage matters with increasing independence and confidently engage with clients
Robust drafting, analytical and strategic thinking skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced practice with a significant volume of active matters
Commercial, personable and collaborative, with a genuine interest in developing specialist expertise within statutory insurance
