In this role as Senior Practitioner, you will work closely with the Regional Manager to engage with services and communities across the Mt Isa/Gulf region to enhance team-oriented planning and integrated responses for vulnerable children and their families.

A place to make a difference:
In this full time maximum term (till end of December ****), you'll work as part of the Family Integrated Case Management Group team in Mt Isa/Gulf Region to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.
You'll make a difference by:
Identifying key agencies and programs that contribute to the service systems across the Mt Isa/Gulf Region for vulnerable children and their families
Coordination of forums and support the development of working parties and other activities that promote service delivery collaboration
Assisting in the identification of service system gaps and communicating the information to peak bodies within the sector including decision makers
Co-ordination of and support to Local Level Alliance/s when required
Provide operational support for the Family Integrated Case Management Group
Identify and network with a group of collective partners to jointly collaborate and negotiate support arrangement for families in the community to enhance the child/family safety and wellbeing
Provide holistic case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and supporting relationships for favourable client outcomes

This role requires:
Sound knowledge of the community service sector; including the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander organisations and services for families,



children and young people
Demonstrated ability to identify available services and service gaps; building on community capacity to provide more efficient service provision for families and a thriving local community
Ability to build effective relationships, liaise and work collaboratively with program stakeholders, community members, relevant Government and non-Government organisations
Strong communication skills and experience in report writing
Strong time management and organisation skills
Experience leading community meetings, networks, workshops and events
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability work effectively in a team
Demonstrated experience in liaising with community working groups and providing information relating to emerging trends, issues, needs, opportunities and challenges
Effective communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal; including report-writing, presentations and meeting facilitation / participation
Knowledge and/or experience in handling child protection concerns and processes
Demonstrated competence in use of business technology, internet and desktop applications such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets, database packages and web-based information sharing portals
Qualifications and/or equal experience in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Community Services or Community Development, with a focus on child and family service delivery
Knowledge or an interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cross-cultural environments
